If you are the owner of real estate on January 1 of the current year, you will receive the tax statement on the property for the entire year. Pittsylvania County is a non-prorating jurisdiction. Real Estate Tax Exemption Application Non Pro-Rating Jurisdiction The Board of Supervisors sets the rate by June 30 of the current year. The results of that reassessment will go into effect on January 1, 2024. The most recent general reassessment was completed on January 1, 2018, and a reassessment is currently underway.
